just my yarn

...Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things...

for my little cupcake-

as you can see, i have taken my new passion to the next level. embellishment-a-go-go! so, one of the drawbacks of having a therapeutic background (!) is that you can never enjoy anything for its own sake. the entire time i have been engaged in this activity, i have been wondering, how could a person with my many years of experience be satisfied at this level? am i catching it? am i forgetting how to do the real stuff? afraid to acheive? blah blah blah- round and round-you never know~ you could be the lucky recipient.

friends are the greatest blessing~

thanks, nancy for this beautiful gift. finally, we got to sit down on wednesday and eat lunch and catch up, share some good news (!) and come up with names for when nancy and jay become grandparents. >:-) btw, this is all sparkly with pearl-ex- really pretty. and i should say- they aren't going to be grandparents-yet- we were just dreaming!

my funny valentine

look what i made (!?)

well, actually mostly i sat and yakked and heidi churned these fab stitch markers out without even looking. i think i made two or three. aren't they great? i heart them. thanks for the lesson, h.

i won!

as i told angelica, the last thing i won was a tie tack at a texaco station when i was about 8 years old. so this was quite the thrill! thank you a for the lovely valentines. you are the sweetest.

studio friday

my entry for the week is more a daily consciousness of what could be, than a real fear. working with individuals who have what is now called the "big A" (Alzheimer's) second cousin of the "big C" on a daily basis, colors my world in a way that you can not begin to imagine. it sounds a bit elitist i guess, but it causes one pause- all the time. i see the fear of those just diagnosed with the disease, the confusion of those entrenched in the disease and the frustration, anger and compassion of those providing care for those suffering from this nightmare. for support and other useful links click here.

it's super bowl sunday!

here's an odd post- first of all-
the super bowl sunday thing- well, i can't tell a down from a fumble from a whatev... i am so sports-challenged overall, this is a joke in my house. so, here are two things i made. one is the "ode to the tedster" valentine tag. love ya, ted! and the other- well, it is just plain odd- i have to say, that when i wove the last end in, i actually said to myself, " you just spent two nights on the couch doing this!?" but, ever the optimist (!?) i woke up refreshed yesterday and with new eyes on this weird little thing and i started poking things into it. voila and yikes and holy cow. more fun than a barrel of monkeys. so of course, i will make some more for fun and torture and in way better colors- this is all i had- a little howard johnson-y, doncha think? be on high alert friends and potential gift recipients. :-) oh yeah and i hope the steelers win!

studio friday

not exactly an accident, but the first thing that i thought of. this is the corner where we used to put out xmas tree. so, every year the dutiful husband would schlep this secretary off to the side and then schlep it back when the holiday was over. one year, he put it back at an angle like this instead of all anal and in the corner like i had it. i love it like this and i have kept it this way ever since. more studiofriday here
